Marine Paintings
Malcom’s concern is not with reproducing a likeness but in capturing the characteristics of a subject. Each painting undergoes constant change until the tensions of the composition are right. Energy and a sense of freedom is what he strives for.

Malcolm uses many sketchbook studies and drawings as a starting point for his work from which a fully abstract painting develops. At the outset he often don’t have a fixed form in mind. Preferring to let the imagery evolve naturally through the process of painting.
